AMR Hosts Kuwaiti Funder’s Representative During Visit to Radiology and Maternal-Child Centers in Zaatari Camp

On Thursday, 27 November 2025, the Arab Medical Relief Society (AMR) received Dr. Ahmed Al‑Sheiha — the representative of the Kuwaiti funding partner — during an official visit to AMR’s Diagnostic Radiology Center and the Maternal and Child Health Center in Zaatari Camp. The visit aimed to assess the quality of medical services provided to Syrian refugees and review the operational challenges and needs of the centers.

At the Radiology Center, Dr. Al-Sheiha toured various departments, including X-ray, panoramic radiography, mammography, ultrasound, as well as the patient registration and follow-up system. He praised the professionalism of the medical and administrative staff and commended the critical role of the center in alleviating health burdens on refugees within the camp.

He also held a meeting with the association’s team to discuss major challenges — including heavy demand on services, lack of a CT scanner, and the withdrawal of some health organizations from the camp — and offered recommendations for improvements both inside and outside the facility.

At the Maternal and Child Health Center, Dr. Al-Sheiha carried out a field tour of the center’s facilities and various clinics, including the dental clinic, gynecology clinic, general medical clinic, and the pharmacy. He was briefed on the daily services provided to women and children and the importance of continuing these services amid growing needs.
